Rules

#1: Do NOT upload our fansubs to YouTube

This seems to be a hard concept to understand for some people, but it shouldn’t be. JE does not allow their shows/artists to be showcased on YouTube and there have been multiple disputes in the past. If you have any respect for our work, you will not upload to YouTube.

As for other streaming sites, we suggest you do not upload our fansubs there either, because you never know the next streaming site that becomes a problem to JE.

Futhermore, now that our fansubs are even easier to access than before, there is no reason for anyone to insist on uploading to a streaming site because everyone can come here to download. If you are that despirate to get people to thank you instead of us, then go post on livejournal where our fansubs are allowed.

#2: Do NOT sell, rent, or distribute our fansubs for any type of monetary gain.

This includes but is not limited to sending someone the fansubs and charging for “shipping” or “bandwidth”. If you want to host our fansubs on your private server, you must not ask downloaders for “donations” to compensate for your private server. No one is forcing you to spend money to distribute our fansubs, so no one should have to spend any money to get our fansubs. Our fansubs are free. If downloaders have spare change around, then please support the artist and buy their CDs, etc.

#3: Do NOT alter the fansubs and redistribute the altered version.

We don’t care what you keep on your home computer, but if you redistribute any of our fansubs to someone else, it must be the full package, uncut, unchanged. This includes the translation portion as well. Taking the translation from our fansub and redistributing only the translation is not only extremely disrespectful, but it also opens the door for those shady people who want to sell translations/fansubs for a profit. Our hardsubs are hard to scam with without the buyer finding out because we made them that way. Please do not alter these videos.

Furthermore, please do not change the video quality (this may make the watermark harder to see and easier to scam with). Please do not change the video size (this may make the watermark harder to see and easier to scam with). Please do not change video format (this will probably change the quality, see above). The only exception is iPod format, because .avi files cannot play on iPods. Otherwise, please do not alter the fansubs.

Long story short: if you aren’t sure if you can do something, ask.

#4: With the exception of those places noted above, our fansubs may be distributed anywhere else.
